Excavation is part of a series of sculptural objects exploring the process of wood carving as uncovering. This collection of wall reliefs focuses on unearthing seemingly mundane observations and feelings through abstract shapes carved out of a single block of wood. Each piece memorializes something in particular: an everyday object, a small gesture, a fleeting moment, a shared memory, or a specific time and place.
Please note this relief is marked down in price as a second due to some warping in the wood. It is not visible in the frame, only from the back and does not affect the structural integrity of the piece.
MEDIUM: Painted maple, maple frame
DIMENSIONS: 13-1/8"h, 10-1/8"w framed. 12"h, 9"w unframed
