Arch is part of a series of sculptural objects exploring the process of wood carving as excavation. The projections are revealed in a subtractive process as I cut away at solid blocks of natural material layer by layer. As one of the oldest forms of art, my relief and tabletop forms channel the history of carving and uncover the artifacts that live within the medium.
